Dear Parents and Carers,
As part of our History unit of study in Term 3, Colonisation of Australia, we have organised an educational excursion to the Caboolture Historical Village. Our visit to the Village will focus on changes to our lifestyle, transport, communication and industry because of technology and innovation. Students will learn of the origins of some of today’s most popular items and give some thought of how advances in technology in the future may be influenced by the issues of today. The Village, set on 12 acres, is made up of 70 buildings, displaying some 50 000 historical items. Activities that the students will be involved in include gem sieving, watching a blacksmith demonstration, being held up by bushrangers and learning how laundry was done the old-fashioned way!
